We're looking into our local history right now.  The lakes are manmade, created by building earthen dams to  block natural streams.  They were constructed around 1958 by the former mayor of Medford, Ephraim Tomlinson.  His bulldozer would often get stuck, and some of our earliest neighbors would come by to help pull his bulldozer out of the mud.  We are looking for anyone who might have some pictures of the development of the lakes and roads, and we have a few leads to follow up.  Check back later for more!

The story goes that our neighboring lake, Centennial Lake, was created around the time of the centennial celebration of the country (1876).  Many of the lakes in the area were created by cranberry farmers, such as John Hinchman of Taunton.
